He Leadeth Me

I had first heard this beautiful song, when my mother had sung it to me. As I learnt to play the organ, these were one of the first tunes I mastered.

Since then, it continues to be very dear to me. I hum to it very often when He brings it to mind, and in these days, I’d been humming it alot.

He Leadeth Me

He leadeth me, O blessed thought!
O words with heav’nly comfort fraught!
Whate’er I do, where’er I be
Still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me.
He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful foll’wer I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.
Sometimes ’mid scenes of deepest gloom,
Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom,
By waters still, o’er troubled sea,
Still ’tis His hand that leadeth me.
Lord, I would place my hand in Thine,
Nor ever murmur nor repine;
Content, whatever lot I see,
Since ’tis my God that leadeth me.
And when my task on earth is done,
When by Thy grace the vict’ry’s won,
E’en death’s cold wave I will not flee,
Since God through Jordan leadeth me.

Psalm 23 : 1-3

“The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures.

He leads me beside quiet waters.

He restores my soul.

He leads me in paths of righteousness

for His name’s sake.”

Whate’er I do, where’er I be
Still ’tis God’s hand, that leadeth me.
